Jamie Beck e Kevin Burg – Cinemagraphs

Jamie Beck e Kevin Burg - Cinemagraphs - fotografie in movimento

“There’s something magical about a still photograph - a captured moment in time - that can simultaneously exist outside the fraction of a second the shutter captures.”
Jamie Beck

Immagini statiche decongelate e trasformate in attimi.

Of course the technology to create GIF’s has been around for decades but I believe its potential for both expression and impact, within the fashion world, has yet to be fully explored. Let me put it this way – film has been around for a century, does that mean that we’ve exhausted the possibilities?

Great GIF technology, and your work is really remarkable.
    Love to you Dear

  2. An amazing collection of gifs, really love these. It looks like not everyone likes the works of some very clever people being brought to one place but I’m really glad you did. I’m not sure quite how I could incorporate one into a wedding shoot as yet but I will certainly get my thinking cap on and possibly one day a work of mine might be up there.

    Good job!

Love it! Enjoy seeing photography taken to the next level. Thank you for sharing!

  18. Excellent!

Here’s how I think this was done: lots of photos were taken on a tripod, a master photo was selected and then the photos were masked out to just leave the moving part. That way the master photo is not influenced by the micro changes of light of the multiple exposures. Great idea!

I think they shoot with a very fast camera, at least burst of 10 shoots per second, and then with selective editing they let the part they want to move.

I could not wait and took some photos from my balcony and did one, of course the quality, and artistry, is not even near their masterpieces. I think this is something that has a great future in the world of magazines published in electronic form.

  84. Silnorilen scrive:

These are simply lovely, taking already striking images and making them memorable. Honestly, not to detract from the tasteful and realistically applicable nature of these images but these images make me wish for technology to produce publications like in the Harry Potter story, to glance at a magazine of a lovely woman and suddenly she blinks, or smiles wryly. What an impact that would make on the advertising market! I think such a thing would revitalize the physical publication market. But I’m off on a tangent; though, if anyone were to make a web magazine, images like these would make such an endeavor well worth perusing and revisiting. Well done indeed! And thank you for sharing your works with us. ;]

Websites which feature other people’s work, especially those which collect a range of quality offerings are invaluable. The number of sites and the amount of content on the internet is ridiculously vast and I rely on many sites to do the hard work for me and source great examples – especially when it comes to art and design.

Thank you so much for showcasing this innovative approach to photography/videography. I have not seen anything quite like it. I’ve bookmarked your site and will look through to see what else is showcased here!
